We never realize how much we depend on our vision (sight).  This exercise challenges you to rely on the others that usually take a back seat to what we see.  Using all of your senses except site,describe a place of great significance to you.

Create your own Similes
A simile is a phrase often using the words “like” or “as” to compare one thing to another. Some examples of similes are:

  • crazy like a fox
  • bright as the sun

ASSIGNMENT
Part I:  Take a few minutes to think up some creative similes of your own. Using the beginning of similes listed below, complete the phrases with new comparisons. If you are feeling more daring, create your own list similar to the list below.

  5. slippery as a…
  6. cheeks like…
  7. crazy like…
  8. bright as…
